Red Star: New co-design initiative to improve brain health

We’re launching an exciting new co-design initiative to develop an innovative health app designed to improve long-term health outcomes for those managing chronic conditions, focused on brain health, or affected by dementia.

This project, which we’re leading with funding from the Chief Scientist’s Office through the Scottish Health Industry Partnership, aims to create a digital tool that truly meets the needs of its users. We’re working closely with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to ensure the app adheres to high standards of care and usability.

Our goal is to gather real-life insights from individuals managing long-term health challenges such as heart failure, diabetes, or high blood pressure, as well as those concerned with brain health and dementia care. By involving the very people who will use the app, we aim to create a solution that’s both effective and user-friendly.

We are particularly looking for people, or carers of those, who are affected by:

  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Dementia
  • Cognitive impairment

By participating in this co-design process, you’ll have the chance to directly shape the features and functionality of the app, ensuring it serves the community in meaningful ways. Whether you’re managing a long-term condition, interested in brain health, or caring for someone with dementia, your input is invaluable.
