We are excited to announce that Red Star has been awarded funding from the Chief Scientist’s Office (CSO) to further develop our platform, focusing on brain health and dementia prevention. Building on Phase 1, our team will co-design new functionality in collaboration with Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland to help patients manage both clinical and lifestyle risk factors, with a particular emphasis on medication management.
The Red Star platform aims to empower individuals to take control of their brain health by providing a dashboard of their clinical history and risk factors, promoting self-management and preventative care.

“Red Star is delighted to have been awarded funding from the Chief Scientist’s Office to build a system that will help people manage their brain health in mid-life. It builds on a growing awareness that dementia can be prevented or delayed by managing cardiovascular risk factors, alongside a healthy lifestyle, taking care of your mental health, and keeping active and mentally stimulated. The system has been co-designed with pharmacists, GPs, Community Mental Health Teams, and members of the public. It will provide a single page dashboard of a patient’s clinical history and risk factors – in particular cardiovascular risk factors – as well as a patient app giving citizens a view of their own clinical data and encouraging self-management of the factors known to influence brain health.”
