Red Star awarded Phase 1 SBRI funding to look at how AI can be used to improve osteoporosis case finding in NHS Glasgow

We are pleased to announce that Red Star has been awarded Phase 1 Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) funding to explore how AI can improve osteoporosis case finding in NHS Glasgow. This collaboration between Red Star and NHS Glasgow has the potential to transform the way osteoporosis is diagnosed and treated, ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing the burden on healthcare systems.

Osteoporosis is a common condition, especially in older adults, that can lead to fractures and other health complications. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential in managing the disease and reducing the risk of complications. However, current methods of case finding can be time-consuming and expensive, and many patients may go undiagnosed.

Red Star’s collaboration with NHS Glasgow aims to leverage AI to improve osteoporosis case finding. The project will explore how AI can help to identify patients at risk of developing the disease, creating more capacity within the service to reduce patient wait time.

This SBRI has the potential to transform the way osteoporosis is diagnosed and treated and we’re looking to our collaboration with NHS Glasgow.
